The Claims Analyst is responsible for processing of medical, vision, dental and STD claims, including coding and evaluation for program coverage with close attention paid to quality and quantity of work. This work includes identification of claims requiring additional information, and the review and resolution of aged claims. After training in HMA’s Bellevue or Everett office, the individual in this position will have the opportunity to work from home. To be considered for this position, you must live within 70 miles of either Bellevue or Everett, Washington.
Essential Functions:
- Process and review all claim types and lines of business, including coding and evaluation for program coverage.
- Securing supplemental information as necessary by telephone or with written correspondence needed to finalize pending claims.
- Investigate and resolve problems on specific employer contracts to determine benefit liability. Refer files as necessary to the proper department.
- Actively work with Customer Service and Client Services to answer questions and solve problems on specific claims in a timely manner.
Successful candidate will have:
- 3-5 years of claims processing experience in the Health Insurance Field Required
- Moderate knowledge of medical and dental terminology
- Moderate knowledge of CPT-4 procedure coding, ICD-9 diagnosis coding and ADA
- Ability to use the 10-key at 200 keystrokes per minute
- Use of keyboarding - 50 words per minute
- Moderate written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
