The Account Manager is responsible for direct management of a book of business, serving as the primary client liaison, and for ensuring the benefit administration needs of our brokers and clients are exceeded.  The Account Manager is to provide support and assist in the development of the Account Services Representatives.  They are responsible for meeting specific individual goals as well as departmental goals.
 
Essential Functions:
 
  • General management of a book of existing accounts, which includes: problem solving, renewal negotiations, preparation of benefit recommendations, client/broker presentations, client advocate to operations, vendor evaluations (including PBMs, excess loss carrier), evaluation of client’s needs for other HMA product/service offerings, and assisting in determining proper benefits
  • Risk Management
  • Implement New Groups 
  • Provide support to Account Analyst, including auditing of work
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Client Services Team
  •  Various projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
Successful Candidate will have:
 
  • Two years experience in Account Management
  • Five years experience in the health insurance industry
  • Three years experience working with clients/brokers
  • Extensive knowledge of ERISA & Benefit Plan Mgmt
  • Extensive understanding of Self-Funded Benefit Plans and Stop Loss
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • WA State Agent’s License, Life & Disability or other professional designation (i.e., CEBS, HIAA)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word and Excel
