The Supervisor, Claims Analysts will oversee the day-to-day operations of a dedicated unit of Claims Analysts to assure timely, accurate, consistent and cost-effective processing of claims. The Supervisor, Claims Analysts must be able to manage multiple tasks at one time, make sound decisions and communicate issues and instructions clearly. This position will a pivotal one within the Claims Operations department and routinely interacts with all levels of the company.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the unit to ensure accurate and timely processing of claims. Strict attention will be paid to the Department of Labor guidelines, ITS/Bluecard MTM and PTS, and department standards/goals when coordinating workloads.
- Act as a resource for and answer Claim Analyst’s questions.
- Act as the liaison with internal and external stakeholders regarding claims issues.
- Participate in the hiring, orientation and training of new employees, and evaluation/ development of existing employee performance. Communicate job expectations and special assignments. Establish and monitor job performance criteria as established and appropriate for Claim Analysts.
- Assist with the development of policies and procedures guiding the efficient operation of the department.
Successful Candidate will have:
- 5 years of health insurance claims processing experience, including extensive knowledge of procedural and diagnostic coding and contract benefits.
- A minimum of 2 years successful experience in a supervisor role
- Good working knowledge of medical terminology, DOL regulation interpretations and utilization guidelines.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word skills.
- Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work in and create a successful team environment
- Proficient with the Trizetto Qiclink System, preferred.
