At 76 stories, the Columbia Center in Seattle is the Pacific Northwest’s tallest skyscraper and the third-tallest building on the West Coast. To reach the observation deck, you need to take 1,311 steps. It’s no small feat, but 20 HMA tower racers took every step on March 26, 2017, as part of Big Climb Seattle. More rewarding than the sweeping views of Puget Sound was the money raised to fund blood cancer research and patient services for the Washington chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLSWA).
Team HMA raised more than $28,000 for LLSWA.
At HMA, our support for the Big Climb and LLSWA is part of our commitment to partnerships that help make our local communities better and healthier places to live. LLSWA funds research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and at the University of Washington Medical Center. Both research centers hold places among leading research institutions worldwide, and both work to improve, save, and impact the lives of patients and their families throughout the Puget Sound area.
Congratulations to the members of Team HMA on their achievement, and many thanks to the supporters who helped lift them to new heights. See you at the top again in 2018!
